Now in its fifth year, ‘Moruya’s Funky Little Festival’ Granite Town returns on Saturday October 6 with a rollicking, funk-laden lineup, playing out in a charming setting.

This NSW South Coast town might just be home to the best kept secret of the Australian music festival circuit. Granite Town is a community run, not for profit festival, and an evolution of the long running Moruya Jazz Festival.

This year proudly sports:

The Bamboos, Caiti Baker, Gang of Brothers, The Strides, Thunder Fox, The Swamp Stompers, Signature Series and The Big Ilch and a selection of local talent for one huge day on Saturday October 6th.

The Granite Town stage has seen some of Australia’s most exciting acts perform, from The Waifs, Tash Sultana, Kim Churchill, Jeff Lang, Ash Grunwald, Katie Noonan and many more.

“We have only been able to put on such great shows because the festival is organised by a team who just really love their music,” a festival representative said of the volunteer Granite Town Committee. “The community really gets behind us too; it’s amazing how generous people are with their time to make it all happen.”

The result is a festival that is a celebration of music’s ability to bring people together.

Moruya is ideally located for a weekend getaway on the unspoilt NSW South Coast, with the festival site at Moruya Racecourse just behind the beach and surrounded by bushland. There’s no need to rough it though, with a state of the art PA system, gourmet food trucks, craft beer at the bar as well as the Granite Town Record Fair!

Granite Town is for one and all with children under 12 admitted free and a range of children’s activities on offer.
