I caught up with the Yours & Owls kids to get the proverbial word on the street on this auspicious partnership.
“We are extremely excited to have come on board in partnership with Australian National University (ANU Canberra) to take over their live music & entertainment bookings for the on-campus bar ‘MOLO LIVE @ ANU’.
“Since taking over Wollongong’s equivalent (UOW UNIBAR) we have seen an increasing appetite in live music in the area. With more and more shows both coming to Wollongong and being well attended, it has quickly solidified itself as live music mainstay on the Australian touring circuit. It is this frequency of shows and attendance numbers that we’re going to be trying to replicate in Canberra.”
So why the ANU Pop-Up Village of all the venues on offer?
“The venue is situated perfectly, only a few minutes walk from the city CBD and entertainment quarter. It’s a part of the ANU POP-UP Village and neighboured by a host of local eateries making it the perfect night-time hang.
“We can’t be more excited to be bringing some of the best local, national & international touring acts to Canberra, and are looking forward to meeting and sharing some food, drinks & live music with you ASAP!
“We will be launching the venue on May 26, with a huge party featuring POLISH CLUB, THE GOOCH PALMS, CITIZEN KAY, GENESIS OWUSU, PURPLE SNEAKERS DJs – NEXT GEN & CRESSY (GOOD CONTENT).”
