A unique energy and highly danceable show, merging Funk and Afro-latin rhythms with modern music. An exciting (5) piece latin band formed in Canberra. FunkyTrop is heavily influenced by Afro-Cuban rhythms and Latin music. The groups instrumentation includes Drums, Congas and minor percussion. The melody is supported by Piano, Bass, and Electric Guitar. The main vocal is covered by stellar and eclectic Adanna.

Chicharrita Club is a 6-piece Tropical Latin Rock band formed in Canberra during 2020 + made up of members from Peru and Australia. Their melodic, guitar-driven, Peruvian psychedelic sound extends the roots of chicha to the far reaches of Australia. Featuring members of Rumblr + Mi Tierra – Australia’s Leading Latin Band, this new collective will have you dancing and tapping your feet to a distant groove, which is yet to make its way into the Aussie music scene. Come and dance to the soul-warming rhythms of the Chicharrita!
What is Chicha?Also known as Peruvian cumbia – Chicha fuses the tropical sounds of cumbia with the traditional Andean sounds of huayno. Additional influences from international genres such as surf and psychedelic rock, salsa, give Chicha a distinct sound. Chicha music was born in Lima at the end of the 1960s.

Raio de Sol is Canberra’s community samba band – playing rhythms that will get your feet dancing, bring joy to your heart and a smile to your face.We play massed acoustic percussion beats that are intoxicating, vibrant and for everyone, young and old.

Raio de Sol is a group with heart – a big, bold, warm and welcoming heart that embraces community. We are a group of people from all around the world – We are students, chefs, public servants, doctors, retirees, teachers, trades people, unemployed, economists, diplomats who love rhythm, connection, drums, percussion, community and the joy of making music together to share with all. Raio de Sol – meaning ‘sunbeam’ in Portuguese – is apolitical, non-religious and non-discriminatory and welcomes anyone from all walks of life to join, regardless of musical ability.
