Works for this show have been inspired by the beauty supplied by nature and found in their gardens. The artistic flowering demonstrated in Jimalyn’s pastel drawings reflects her passion for art and the flourishing of her practice. Similarly, Jenelle’s obsession with butterflies, which began as a symbolic exploration of her hearing loss, has developed into an expression of her development and emergence as an artist. Since she began studying printmaking at the Canberra School of Art in 1979, Moira has involved herself in art-making. Her dramatic hand-coloured prints in From the Garden combines her printmaking expertise with her recent practice in painting.
