John Harkins studied classical piano at the Manhattan School of Music, and the thriving jazz scene of 1980s New York City shaped his musical life.
On this occasion the John Harkins Trio comprises John Harkins (piano), Brendan Clarke (bass), and Mark Sutton (drums), wth special guest, Paul Cutlan (saxophones). Originally from Tasmania, Paul Cutlan has been at the forefront of the Australian jazz scene for more than twenty years.
The night will feature compositions by Cutlan and Harkins and songs by Cedar Walton, Horace Silver, and Billy Strayhorn.
