Cabaret Voltaire — Pop Art edition

“Art is anything you can get away with.” — Andy Warhol.

“I’ve always enjoyed feeling a connection to the Avant-Garde, such as Dada, Surrealism and Pop Art. The only thing the artist can do is be honest with themselves and make the art they want to make. That’s what I’ve always done.” — Jeff Koons.

Welcome to Cabaret Voltaire, an evening of avante-garde art and performance inspired by the Pop Art movement / Aestheticism and the essence of “l’art pour l’art” (art for art’s sake).

Come and experience acts inspired by Rosenquist, Warhol, Oldenburg, Lichtenstein, and others, celebrating commonplace objects, pop-culture parodies, iconic commercial imagery, and mass-culture objects, art from the beautiful, abstract, and obscene: fantasy and expression that flouts conventional aesthetics.

This juxtaposition of imagery, dreams, and fantasy will be delivered through an explosive night of drag, burlesque, performance art, and live art and music, featuring:

  • Venus Mantrap (drag),
  • Bang Bang (burlesque),
  • Guy Alias (drag),
  • Zapp Backagain (drag),
  • InkBits (musical performance),
  • Jupiter Rayne (burlesque),
  • Faux née Phish (hyper queen),
  • Dickless Wonder (drag),
  • AliasBits (punk drag cabaret),
  • Kaiya (burlesque),
  • live music, and
  • more.
